A new house will be built in Ågenskalna, preserving the shape of the historical building.
In the fall of 2020, the real estate developer Hepsor will start the construction of a new multi-apartment building in Ågenskalna, in the block between Ernestīnes, Kapseļu and Baložu streets. As part of the project, the existing building will be demolished and a new three-story building with 18 apartments will be built in its place, preserving the shape of the historical building. The shape of the new building has been changed over time according to the wishes of the owners at that time. Respecting the history and wanting to preserve the structure characteristic of Āgenskalns, the external form of the historical building will be preserved, including the unusual tower, while the new part of the building will be dominated by austere forms that will fit perfectly into the overall shape of the building. The natural wood finish of the facade of the brick building will be complemented by more modern materials – tin and metal. The building will have 18 two-, three- and four-room apartments. “From Hepsor’s point of view, Ågenskalns is perfect for people who prefer to live in a greener neighborhood, while being very close to the city center. The design of the facade of the building will meet both modern and older style architecture, the building will naturally fit into the ensemble of the surrounding buildings and contribute to the preservation of the history of Āgenskalns,” says “Hepsor” representative Martti Krass. It is planned to invest 2.5 million euros in the implementation of this project. The building is planned to be commissioned in October 2021. Read the full version of the article here!
