An apartment building in Daugavpils will be renovated for 1.3 million euros
The implementation of the renovation project of a 97-apartment building in Daugavpils, in preparation for the heating season, promises up to 65% heat energy savings. A Swedbank loan was granted for building renovation works, and an ALTUM grant was received within the energy efficiency program co-financed by EU funds. The total cost of the project is more than 1.3 million euros, Swedbank’s financing in this renovation project is 50% of the costs, or less than 700 thousand euros. The renovation of the 5-story, 97-apartment building built in 1980 on Šaura Street will be coordinated by SIA “DMP”, whose field of activity is real estate management and management. Construction works will be carried out by SIA “Builder Industry”. As part of the project, it is planned to insulate the facade and plinth, overhaul the roof and insulate the attic cover, insulate the basement cover, replace windows and doors, replace entrance doors, glaze loggias, rebuild the heating system, restore the water supply and sewerage system, restore the ventilation system, install lightning protection, etc. works. By implementing the project, maintenance costs will be significantly reduced – the planned savings could reach up to 65%. The measures taken to increase energy efficiency will ensure heat energy savings for heating of 90.49 kWh/m2 per year, as well as a reduction of greenhouse gases by 122.54 CO2 eq.T/year. Leon Ošmjanskis, the elder of the house, says: “We decided to renovate the house, because thanks to the construction works, it will be possible to reduce the heating bills and carry out all the necessary construction works at the same time. Many residents doubted the need for renovations, but now that heating costs continue to rise, all residents are looking forward to the construction work and are happy that they made the decision to renovate. We are grateful to ALTUM, Swedbank and Daugavpils City Council for the help and support provided”. Ilze Kukute, head of the state and local government customer service department of Swedbank Latvija, states: “Co-financing of EU fund support programs is a significant support for the reduction of energy consumption of apartment owners in multi-apartment buildings, and accordingly for cost savings, as well as giving the building a “new life” in a renewed form, improving the quality of life. Last year alone, we co-financed 30 projects to improve energy efficiency. This year has also started actively – in 6 months, Swedbank has already provided financing for 26 apartment building renovation projects for a total amount of 12.3 million euros.
