Dzirciema Aptieka received the UNESCO World Modern Architecture Award
“Dzirciema aptieka” in Riga has received the world architecture and design award “Prix Versailles 2021”.
The exterior of the pharmacy was recognized as the best in the world in 2021 in the object category “Shops”, architect Arnis Dimiņš informed Db.lv. Db.lv already reported that “Dzirciema aptieka” (SIA “Insbergs”), the only manufacturer of anthroposophic medicines in the Baltics, moved to a new home last year – a modern building specially designed and built for the provision of pharmaceutical care services, which includes premises for sales, preparation of medicines and also medical seminars. For the construction of the pharmacy’s new building, it was financed by the bank “Citadel” in the amount of 376,000 euros. The building has a custom-made steel and aluminum facade. In order to compensate for the shortcomings of the urban construction scale, a series of architectural compositional requirements were set for the general image of the building, with the aim of making the new building volume differ as much as possible from the traditional low-rise background construction.
