How are the services of a sworn notary conducted remotely via video conference?
Consultation and drafting of documents at a notary can take place in video mode, and notarial activities can be performed remotely . What is required to receive notary services online:
- A computer with which you can film and record sound (mostly all portable computers have a video camera and a microphone) ;
- Internet browser Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox;
- Internet connection with a speed of at least 10 Mbit/s;
- Electronic signature ( eParaksts mobile or Smart-ID Basic qualified electronic signature ) ;
How to apply for an online visit to a notary:
- First of all, you need to connect to Latvijasnotars.lv by authorizing with your internet bank (press “log in with Latvija.lv” in the upper right corner) ;
- Choose a notary and apply for a visit at the time you want, writing in the notes that you want online;
How to visit a notary online:
- Enter the virtual notary’s office by following the link in the confirmation e-mail or by clicking on the active visit (with a green mark) on the portal;
- Allows streaming of video and audio in the browser when prompted;
- Make sure that the quality of the video is good (the face is clearly visible, the data of the identification document is clearly legible when zoomed in to the camera) ;
- Click on the handset symbol (it will appear when the notary has connected to your case) ;
How documents are created at a notary online (there will be several sections/stages in the virtual notary’s office) :
- Exchange of documents – You will review the draft document prepared by a sworn notary and submit the necessary documents to the sworn notary;
- Signing – You will download the document, sign it electronically (with eParaksts mobile or Smart-ID qualified electronic signature ) and upload the already signed document back;
- Payment – you will pay the bill of a sworn notary using the offered online connection with banks or in your internet bank;
- E-document – You will be able to download an e-document certified by a sworn notary ;
