In the second quarter of this year, housing prices in Latvia increased by 12.4% compared to the corresponding period a year ago, which is a faster increase than the average in the European Union (EU) and the eurozone, according to the data published on Thursday by the EU statistical office “Eurostat” for the 26 member states of the bloc.
The fastest annual increase in house prices was recorded in Estonia (+16.1%), Denmark (+15.6%), the Czech Republic (+14.5%), Luxembourg (+13.6%) and Lithuania (+13.3%). ).
In general, housing prices increased in the second quarter year-on-year in all EU member states for which data are available, except in Cyprus, where they decreased by 4.9%.
