In the second reading, he supports the draft law on the termination of forced divided property

On June 10, the Saeima supported the bill on the termination of forced divided property in the second reading, the Ministry of Justice informs. The purpose of the draft law is to provide a solution to end the forced divided property, giving the opportunity for the community of apartment owners to use the right of redemption in relation to the land attached to the house in accordance with the law. “The solution to ending forced shared ownership has been sought for more than ten years. Meanwhile, the affected residents are in the role of hostages, because the land belongs to one owner, and the building to another, and they cannot agree on the rent of the land, nor on a meaningful relationship regarding the use of the land or the termination of the shared property,” states the justice department. Minister Jānis Bordāns.
