Kauguri – Riga district – Jurmala
History and importance in Riga
Kauguri is one of the most populated micro-districts of Jurmala. Historically, the territory of Kaugur was used to transport goods with carts from the port of Kaugurciems to Sloka. In 1959, Kaugurciems and Sloka were added to the Jūrmala city. A year later, starting with the Talsi highway, its rapid construction with multi-storey buildings began, creating the district as it is now.
Territory and construction
Kauguru infrastructure consists mostly of serial projects such as 602, 467, Khrushchev, small-family projects and the most common and popular 103 series. A good choice for families with children. Although Kauguri is a sleeping area, it does not lose the charm of the Jūrmala resort, it is possible to enjoy both walks along the sea and pine forests, as well as visiting the existing entertainment places.
