The construction of a new multi-apartment building in Imanta is planned, for the implementation of which it is necessary to cut down 32 trees.
In Imanta, on Dumbrāja Street 29, next to the two high-rise buildings of the Solaris project, the construction of a new apartment building is planned, for the implementation of which 32 trees need to be cut down. In connection with a large population activity, the Riga City Council’s Vegetation Preservation Commission has instructed the Riga City Construction Board to extend the public consultation on the cutting of these trees in Imanta, informs the Riga City Council. The commission has received an application from SIA «Bonava Latvija» regarding the cutting of trees on a plot of land at Dumbrāja street 29. The company wants to cut down two maples, 25 birches, one oak, 3 pines and one yew in connection with the construction of an apartment building. “Bonava Latvija has received a building permit from the Riga City Building Authority for the development of a multi-apartment residential project at Dumbrāja street 29, and the works are being implemented in accordance with the regulations of the supervisory institutions. The development of the project also requires extensive improvement and greening of the territory. We understand the temporary inconvenience caused to the residents during the project’s construction period, but when the project is completed, the residents of Imanta will get both new buildings with a living area of 350 people, and a green environment with the creation of a large green area and well-equipped children’s playgrounds, modern exercise stations for physical activities, open gazebos for spending time in a green and tidy area. Also, we expect to preserve a large number of existing trees, as well as plan to supplement them with newly planted trees, while the creation of shrubs and perennials is also planned. The greenery plan envisages the planting of new trees and bushes in proportion to the amount of cut down trees,” emphasizes Mārtiņš Vonda, Bonava Latvija project development manager.
