The dragonfly festival is celebrated in the Lucavsala housing project
The construction of the first building of the “Lucavsala” apartment complex of the real estate developer “Merks houses” marked a dragonfly festival, marking an important stage in the development of this ambitious project.
The construction of the first phase of the E1 building is proceeding according to plan, and it is planned that the nine-story building, which will contain 54 apartments, will be completed in the second quarter of 2025. This will be one of the first projects in Riga, which envisages the installation of a compact basketball court, soccer goal and an open-air gym on the roof of the adjoining parking lot. Also, as part of the project, a common greenhouse and several recreation areas will be created for residents, which will be suitable for all age groups. “The construction of the E1 building of the first phase of the apartment complex is progressing – 44% of the total project volume has been completed and all works are proceeding according to the planned schedule. We have reached the highest point of the first building, which rises to a height of more than 28 meters, and we can see the full extent of the building,” says Roberts Rēboks, a member of the board of “Merks majas”. In total, the development project includes three residential buildings of energy efficiency class A with 590 apartments and six commercial premises, as well as a multi-storey car park. As part of the E1 building of the first phase of the “Lucavsala” project, one nine-story building will be built, which will contain 54 apartments with one to four rooms. The area of the apartments will be from 35 to 86 square meters.
“The dragonfly festival is an important end of the cycle for builders, allowing them to look back on the amount of work done. At the moment, we have completed the construction of the building frame, which includes the preparation of the territory, the construction of the foundations and the construction of the supporting frame of the building. The frame of the building is made of prefabricated reinforced concrete panels, which allows to maintain high quality and speed of construction. Currently, we are actively working so that the building will be “closed” before the autumn rainy season, and it would be possible to start finishing works. The construction of utilities and concreting of floors on six floors, as well as the construction of apartment partitions on four floors, have also been completed. Currently, thermal insulation of the roof, installation of warm floors, construction of plasterboard walls and water supply systems are being carried out,” states Jānis Zilgme, member of the board of “Merko būve”.
The apartments of the “Lucavsala” project will be available with full, high-quality interior decoration. Each apartment will have a spacious balcony, loggia or terrace with plant boxes to make the home even cozier. Some apartments will have a view of the Small Daugava River, providing the opportunity to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature without leaving home. For the convenience of apartment owners, a shared wheelchair space will be built on the first floor of the building. Also, outdoor parking spaces will be available for residents in the project area.
