The most energy-efficient single-family building 2022 – Riga, Sīpeles Street 1a

The competition “The most energy-efficient building in Latvia 2022” has ended, which is organized with the aim of promoting good practice in the field of energy efficiency and sustainability of buildings, implementing the construction, renovation and reconstruction of energy-efficient buildings, thereby reducing the amount of greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere. The competition “The most energy-efficient building in Latvia 2022” was announced in April this year. This year, a total of 16 project applications were received in the competition; in the second round of the competition, 14 buildings in eight Latvian cities were evaluated. Already at the end of the year, we will start the new support program for improving the energy efficiency of apartment buildings and transitioning to the use of renewable energy technologies. Every renovated building is a testament to the spirit of a Latvian owner, perfectly demonstrating the ability to organize one’s own property, think about the future, and be open to change and development. And every winner of the competition “The most energy-efficient building in Latvia 2022″ is an excellent example and motivation for multi-apartment, industrial and public buildings, as well as private houses to become more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly,” emphasizes Minister of Economy Ilze Indriksone. The Sympathies Award of the Ministry of Economy for the contribution to ensuring high-quality construction supervision of multi-apartment buildings was received by construction supervisor Jānis Cunskis, who has participated in the renovation of 22 buildings in Valmiera and 12 buildings in Valka. Raido Blumbergs from SIA “Ventspils municipal administration “Komunālā pravāde”” was also awarded the EM Sympathy Award for quality-managed building construction projects, as well as the Talsa company SIA “ADAX 2” for investment in the promotion of building energy efficiency and project implementation. This year, Valentina Tatarenko was recognized by the jury for managing the renovation project of an apartment building in Jelgava, Māras Street 5, which is an excellent example of sustainable thinking and has contributed not only to saving resources, but also created a comfortable and tidy environment. In the Internet voting, the most votes – 1,141 votes – and thus the Sympathia prize of the competition went to the renovated multi-apartment building in Valka, Rīgas street 6A. For the 12th year, the competition has been organized by the Ministry of Economy (ME) in cooperation with the Latvian Construction Engineers Union and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (VARAM).
