The valid cadastral values will be preserved until 2025
In the final reading, the Saeima adopted amendments to the law, which provide for the continued application of the valid cadastral values until January 1, 2025. “As long as the majority of the Saeima and the government have not agreed on a comprehensive review of the real estate tax system, which would ensure a fair and tolerable tax burden for citizens and entrepreneurs, the increase in cadastral values should not be allowed,” previously emphasized the chairman of the Legal Commission responsible for the progress of the bill in the Saeima, Juris Jurašs, stating that In Latvia, the amount of real estate tax is related to the cadastral value of the property.
